Description

Name: Xtreme HM Sanitary Silicone Sealant

A superior anti-mould sanitary silicone guaranteed to prevent mould, mildew and bacterial growth for up to 10 years.

Features: Contains a biocide to retard mould growth. – Waterproof. – High resistance to chemicals. – Good tooling characteristics. – Protects against discolouration. – 10 years anti-mould resistance. – Permanently flexible. – UKCA Approved. – Conforms to BS EN 15651‐1,3:2012.

Application: Suitable for sealing applications in areas of high humidity such as kitchens, shower bases and cubicles, baths, wet rooms, sanitary ware, etc. Can also be used around window and door frames in areas that have condensation levels. Can be used in swimming pool areas (but not in swimming pools). Excellent primerless adhesion to enamel, tiles, glazed ceramic, glass, stainless steel, polycarbonate glass (Plexiglass) and acrylics. Suitable for use on wood, aluminium, chrome, concrete, brick and PVC when used in conjunction with a primer.

Instructions: Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease or any contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Remove any old sealant.
Application: Apply using a standard sealant gun with the nozzle cut at an angle of 45°, and to an opening slightly larger than the joint to be sealed.
For bath surrounds: 1/2 fill bath with water to allow sealant to be applied at joint mid point. If necessary masking tape may be applied. If large gaps are to be filled, polythene foam, rod or tape should be used to provide support and minimise sealant wastage. Tool down within 5 minutes using a wet spatula or Bond It Sealant Applicator Tool. Wait until silicone has cured before emptying the bath of the water. Any trims should be bedded into the silicone within 5 minutes.
For sealing waste outlets in sinks and baths: XTREME should be applied so that it will be in compression after tightening of connecting pipes. For metalised plastic trims: test for discolouration by sealant before use. Cleaning: Tools can be cleaned in Bond It White Spirit or Multi-Wipes prior to curing taking
place.

Limitations: Due to the large number of existing paint systems, it is necessary to conduct a compatibility test to ensure suitability. There is also danger of yellowing on contact with white alkyd resin paints. Risk of corrosion when used on bare iron or non-ferrous metals. Not suitable for use with aquaria, bitumen or asphalt and overpainting is not recommended.
