Product details
Name: All Weather Roofing Compound
A general purpose, high performance, waterproof coating.
Features: Cold applied. – Waterproofs and weatherproofs substrates. – Protects steelwork from corrosion. – Easy application. – For exterior use. – Resistant to low concentrations of alkalis and acids. – Can withstand prolonged oxidation. – Excellent resistance to extremes of temperature and does not crack in the cold or flow in the sun.
Application: Recommended where the threat of frost or rain precludes the use of an emulsion. For waterproofing and weather protecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, iron, lead, zinc, aluminium, concrete, roofing felt, fibre/cement, corrugated iron, asphalt, brick and wood. Reduces corrosion and decay. Metal protection for any type of exterior metalwork – fire escapes, ladders, gutters etc. Can be over coated with a suitable decorative solar reflective paint to prolong the life of the coating.
Instructions: Preparation: All surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, dry and free from surface contaminants such as grease, rust and dirt. If necessary, remove any organic growth i.e. lichen, with a fungicidal wash such as Bond It Mould Stop. If the surface is still dusty after cleaning, or covered with weathered bitumen, prime with Bitumen Primer and allow to dry.
Application: STIR WELL BEFORE USE. Apply ALL WEATHER ROOFING COMPOUND by stiff brush or broom, with each coat at right angles to the previous one, at a maximum rate of 0.75 litres per m2. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly. Where necessary reinforce with either an open woven glass fibre membrane or an open mesh polyester membrane. Note: this material should only be applied to surfaces that are completely dry and great care should be taken to ensure that when applied to bitumen felt, no moisture is contained within the felt. In order to prolong the effective life of the dried coating, it is recommended that it can be overcoated with Bond It Solar Reflective Paint, but leave for at least 10 days before applying the reflective coating. Please download TDS for detailed application on different substrates. Cleaning: Clean tools with paraffin (kerosene) or Bond It White Spirit.
Limitations: Do not use in areas where subsequent solvent contact is likely. Do not use for potable drinking water tanks or silage pits. Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Bitumen paint may bleed through any paints subsequently applied over it. Apply a primer recommended by the paint manufacturer before overpainting.
