Enhances the bond strength of Roof Seal Liquid Membrane and EasiSeal Pro to bitumen based, asphalt and felt substrates.

Application: Primer for use on bitumen roofs or substrates prior to the use of Seal It Roof Seal liquid roofing membrane. Enhances the bond strength of membranes and prevents bond failure and staining from substrates that contain bitumen or asphalt.

Instructions: Preparation: Surfaces to be primed should be free from dirt, oil, grease, dust or loosely bound coatings or any other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Organic growth should be removed and treated with Bond It Mould Stop. Surfaces MUST be dry prior to application. Temperature during application of primer must be above 5oC. Application: Apply a single coat of Seal It Bleed Blocker / Primer to the surface with a brush or roller. Follow coverage rate to ensure minimum thickness is achieved. Leave to fully cure, normally overnight, in cold weather it may require 48 hours to fully cure. It is essential that bituminous materials are completely covered with Seal It Bleed Blocker prior to application of Seal It Liquid Membrane. Particular care must be given to rough surfaces such as bitumen felt, where any gaps in primer coverage can lead to product failure. Two coats of Seal It Primer are required on uneven surfaces and over any bitumen based coatings. Allow each coat to dry fully before overcoating. Continue with the application of Seal It Liquid Membrane or EasiSeal Pro as per the Technical Datasheet/packaging details. It is recommended that Seal It Reinforcing Mat is bedded into the Seal It Liquid Membrane to extend the lifespan of the product over bitumen substrates. Cleaning: Clean brushes or rollers with soap and water before the material has a chance to harden.
