A high performance, flexible acrylic intumescent acoustic sealant, which in the event of a fire, will swell to provide an inert barrier to smoke and flames.

Features: Solvent-free/non-hazardous. – 4 hour fire rating. – Permanently flexible. – Rapid drying. – Overpaintable within 1 hour.- Non-shrinking. – For interior use. Note: The fire resistance achievable with Fireshield AC depends upon the joint design and the depth of sealant. In addition, it depends on the substrates being sealed. – Conforms to EN1366-4; EN ISO 10140-2: 2010.

Application: Specially designed to form an acoustic and fire rated, intumescent barrier in construction applications. It is suitable for sealing interior linear joints in floors, ceilings, dry lining systems partition walls, plasterboard and suspended ceilings in interior situations.

Also, it is suitable for penetration seals with steel and copper pipes through plasterboard. Furthermore, it can also be over-painted within 1 hour with fire resistant paint. Up to 4 hour fire rating achievable.

Instructions: Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, oil or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion.</p><p>Application: Apply using a standard sealant gun with the nozzle cut at an angle of 45°, and to an opening slightly larger than the joint to be sealed. When applying the sealant, ensure all crevices are filled. Also ensure there is complete contact between sealant and substrate. Tool down using a wetted spatula or Sealant Applicator Tool.

Cleaning: Any excess may be removed using soapy water before FIRESHIELD AC dries. Do not apply in damp conditions. Remove any excess product with a damp cloth.

Limitations: FIRESHIELD AC is not suitable in joints where movement exceeds +/-12.5% of joint width, or in external joints. This product is NOT for use around fire doors.
