Product details
Name: Mitre Kit Adhesive
A high strength bonding system comprising a cyanoacrylate adhesive with an aerosol activator to ensure full and rapid curing on acid surfaces.
Features: Easy to use, no mess. – Instant bonding. – Speeds strength development to permit immediate use of the part. – High bonding power. – Non-drip formula, suitable for vertical applications. – Suitable for difficult substrates with porous or uneven nature.
Application: Can be used for bonding MDF, wood, rubber, leather and most plastics. Instant bonding properties considerably reduce assembly times for mitre joints especially where precision instant bonding is required. Cures in approximately 10 seconds. Pack includes 1 tin of Activator (200ml) and 1 bottle of HVC Superglue (50g).
Instructions: Preparation: Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
Application: Spray aerosol lightly over one face of the joint and allow to dry. If possible, use on the least visible face of the completed joint. Apply adhesive to the other face and bring together immediately. Apply gentle pressure. IMPORTANT: Can be used on uPVC but over application of the accelerator can result in staining. This stain may not become visible for several hours after application. Apply to a test sample to check application level to avoid any staining on final job.
Bonding Times: The speed of cure varies according to the substrate to be bonded.
Timber and metals will have a longer cure time than plastics and rubbers. Best results are achieved on close fitting parts with a very thin bond line. Excessive bond gaps will result in slower cure speeds.
Cleaning: Clean away any excess adhesive with a dry cloth. Once the glue has dried it is best removed mechanically.
Limitations: Not suitable for permanent glass bonding. Oily or greasy surfaces cannot be bonded. Olefinic or fluro polymers may require specialised bonding techniques. Avoid exposure to strong light and heat sources.
