Features: Permanently flexible. – Mould Resistant. – Waterproof. – For Internal Use. – High Viscosity Formula. – UKCA Approved. – Conforms to EN 15651‐1,3:2012.
Application: Designed for areas which are prone to high humidity or frequent wetting. Ideal for bathrooms, shower areas, wet rooms, kitchens. Suitable for use with sanitary plastics, glass, melamine, laminates, enamel, anodised aluminium, lacquered metals, painted timber, painted plaster, primed or painted concrete and primed metals. For sealing around worktops, basins, sinks, bed basins to vanity units and also to seal shower trays and shower units.
Instructions: Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease or any contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Remove any old sealant.
Application: All surfaces must be clean, dry and dust and grease-free. When sealing deep joints use foam backer rods to minimise wastage. Prime materials such as bare metals, marble, concrete and timber prior to use. Cut the top of the cartridge, talking care not to damage the threaded area. Screw on the nozzle and cut at an angle of 45o to an opening slightly larger than the gap to be sealed. Apply using a standard sealant gun. This silicone will stretch up to at least 20% – ensure there is sufficient material in the joint to stretch and take up any expected movement (eg. Bath tubs).
Tool down after 2-3 minutes after applying using a wetted spatula or sealant applicator tool. For bath surrounds: Half fill the bath with water to allow sealantto be applied at joint mid point. If necessary masking tape may beapplied. If large gaps are to be filled, polythene foam, rod or tape could be used to provide support and minimise sealant wastage. Tool down within 5 minutes using a wet spatula or Bond It Sealant Applicator Tool. Any trims should be bedded into the silicone within 5 minutes.
For sealing waste outlets in sinks and baths: MM50 should be applied so that it will be in compression after tightening of connecting pipes. For metallised plastic trims: test for discolouration by sealant before use.
Cleaning: Clean tools after use using Bond It White Spirit or Multi-Wipes prior to curing taking place.
Limitations: Not suitable for aquaria or on bitumen or asphalt surfaces, concrete or mortar. Do not use on natural stone (staining risk). Over painting is not recommended. If sealing metalised trims, test for discolouration before applying. Do not use on anodized or chrome plated shower trims. Do not apply at temperatures below +5oC or above +30oC.
