Name: PU18 Polyurethane Adhesive & Sealant

A one-part, moisture curing, polyurethane adhesive and sealant, with a shore A hardness of 40, for the construction and transport industries.

Features: Adhesive and sealant. – Shore A Hardness of 40. – Excellent adhesion characteristics. – Resistant to most chemicals and oil. – Produces tough, elastic seals and joints. – Helps dampen vibration. -Overpaintable. – Interior and exterior use. – UKCA Approved. – Conforms to BS EN 15651‐1,4:2012.

Application: Can be used for sealing and bonding in engineering, construction, automotive and marine applications. Also suitable for use with expansion joints in brickowork. It is ideal for use on: concrete, wood, metals, GRP, glass, rubbers, PVC, ceramic, polyester, stone, and most common building materials and is suitable for wooden flooring. Resistant to water, seawater, diluted alkalis, cement grout and water dispersed detergent. Resistant to short-term contact with non-chlorinated hydrocarbon fuels.

Instructions: Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease or any contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
Application: As from 24 August 2023 adequate training is required before industrial or professional use. Puncture seal at the base of the nozzle screw. Apply using a standard sealant gun. When bonding bring two components together before the product skins. When using as a sealant tool with detergent solution within 10 minutes. The maximum depth of sealant must not exceed 12mm; the minimum depth is 0.5mm. PU18 is over paintable with water based paints*, however, tests should be carried out with solvent based paints to determine suitability.
Cleaning: Tools can be cleaned immediately using acetone. After curing, the product must be removed by abrasion.

Limitations: Do not use for aquarium construction. Do not use with bitumen or asphalt. Not suitable for joints with movement greater than 15%. Discolouration of white and grey shades may occur when exposed to UV. Not resistant to alcohols, organic acids, concentrated alkalis, concentrated acids and chlorinated (hydrocarbon) fuel. Do not apply at temperatures below +5oC or above +35oC.
