Stain Block Spray

Name: Stain Block Spray

A xylene and lead-free, high performance, fast drying, pigmented solvent based permanent stain blocking coating. CFC Free. When correctly applied produces a fast drying, stain block coating ready for redecoration.

Features: Quick drying. – Solvent based. – Prepares surfaces for decorating. – Covers nicotine, ink, crayon and grease. – Prevents stains from reappearing. – Quick, easy coverage. – Can be re-applied after 15 minutes. – For interior use.

Application: For use prior to redecoration. Prevents existing stains showing through subsequent coatings. Ideal for areas that have been affected by damp, mould, nicotine, rust, grease, soot and ink marks. Suitable for interior use on most building surfaces including brick, plaster, paint and wood. Touch dry after 15 minutes. Ready for redecorating in approx 2 hours.

Instructions: Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from surface grease or oil or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Ensure the source of the stain has been eliminated. Mask off any areas that need protecting from spray and repair any holes, cracks or surface imperfections prior to coating. Where patches of mould have grown, wash areas first with with an appropriate cleaning agent e.g. Bond It Mould Stop and allow to
dry. Remove rust and soot with a wire brush, wash down areas and allow to dry.
Application: 1. Ensure good ventilation whilst using this product. Shake can well until mixing ball rattles and continue to shake for a further 1-2 minutes. Shake frequently during use.
2. Spray directly and evenly over stain in a sweeping motion, 20-30 cm away from the stained area. The multi-directional nozzle in the horizontal position will produce a vertical line and vice versa.
3. Apply 2-3 coats dependant on stain. Allow to dry for at least 15 minutes before re-applying. Final decoration can commence approx. 2 hours after application. Note: ambient
conditions and porosity of substrate will affect the drying times.
Drying Time: Normally STAIN BLOCK should be touch dry after 15 minutes. Drying times are dependant on temperature, moisture content of the substrate and the area. In optimum conditions STAIN BLOCK will be ready for redecorating in approx 2 hours.

Limitations: Not suitable for use on any bitumen surface. Do not apply at temperatures below +10oC or on substrates that have an RH reading of 90% or above.
