Description

Name: Floor Tile Grout

A grey cement-based, polymer modified wide joint filling compound for tile joints from 3mm up to 12mm wide around all types of ceramic floor tiles. Conforms to EN13888 Type CG1.

Features: For joints up to 12mm. – Ideal for all types of ceramic tiles. – Water and mould resistant. – Suitable for swimming pools. – Interior and exterior application.

Application: Formulated to provide a flowable, readily compactable, grouting slurry, which can be easily applied across all types of ceramic tiled surfaces. Sets to a hard, durable, waterproof finish, suitable for interior and exterior applications, including swimming pools.

Instructions: Preparation: Check that all the tiles are securely fixed and that the tile adhesive has thoroughly dried before applying any load or pressure to the tiled surface. Allow a minimum of 12-24 hours when using standard setting adhesives and ready mixed adhesives, or 2-3 hours when using fast setting adhesives. Ensure all joints are a maximum of 3mm wide and they are raked clear of any excess adhesive residues to allow an even and consistent depth of grout to be applied in all areas. It is recommended that current best practice e.g. the current TTA or COP guidelines are always followed.
Mixing: FLOOR TILE GROUT powder should be added to water, approximately 1Kg of powder to 300ml of water in a clean container and mixed to a smooth, creamy, lump-free consistency, preferably with a mechanical mixer. Allow to stand for 3-5 minutes, re-mix briefly, and use within 1 hour depending on site temperature and conditions. Part-used grout should never be “freshened up” by adding more water, discard any grout once it appears to lose workability.
Application: Using a grouting tool, sponge or squeegee, work the mixed grout thoroughly into the joints ensuring the joints are completely filled. Remove excess grout from face of tiles with a damp sponge or cloth. Use a suitable tool to compact grout into joints. After initial hardening of the grout, clean the tile surface using a clean dampened sponge working diagonally across the grout lines. Allow the grout to harden sufficiently to prevent removal from the joints when cleaning (normally between 1 and 2 hours). Once the grout is set, polish the surface with a soft clean cloth.
Open Time: Open time of the exposed adhesive bed is approx. 20 minutes, dependant on conditions. Pot life approximately 60 minutes @ +20oC.
Dryng Time: Final set will occur between 24-48 hours. Cement based products will take longer to harden and set at lower temperatures and should not be used below 5oC. Light foot traffic: after 12-24 hours. Full traffic: after 24-48 hours (dependant on site conditions). In exterior conditions, it is essential to provide protection from all extremes of climate for as long as possible during and after grouting has been completed (a minimum of 72 hours is recommended).
Cleaning: Clean tools after use with soap and water before the product dries.

Limitations: Use mixed material within 1 hour. Do not re-mix grout that is starting to set by adding extra water. All tile surfaces should be checked before starting to ensure colour staining of porous surfaces or scratching of glazed surfaces will occur during grouting. Slight colour variation may occur between batches and will occur under different mixing and/or site conditions. Swimming pools should not be filled for 3 weeks after grouting. Not to be used in applications prone to movement.
