Name: Cove-Mate Coving Adhesive

A high strength, solvent-free, gap-filling, coving and decorating adhesive. Quick grab and suitable for interior coving and decorative mouldings. Can replace mechanical fixings in a multitude of home improvement applications. Dries to a white finish and can be over-painted once dry.

Application: Ideal for fixing polystyrene and PU covings, skirting boards, architraves and dado rails, etc. It can be used internally on plaster, brick and stone. It is also suitable for bonding work tops to base units and for bonding cork tiles and cork sheet. Note: Not suitable for polythene, polypropylene, teflon, nylon or plaster coving.

Instructions: Preparation: Ensure all surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease, dust or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
Application: Carefully cut the tip off cartridge. Cut nozzle to required width of bead at a 45o angle and attach to cartridge. Place cartridge in a standard sealant gun. For lightweight items (eg. coving, dado rails and skirting) apply the adhesive to the back of the item in one or two continuous 6mm beads and press immediately into place. For bonding heavy items (eg. plasterboards, work tops and wall panels) apply the adhesive all the way around approx 30-50mm from the edge and cover back with beads of adhesive at 300mm centres. Alternatively, apply adhesive direct to battens and then press the item in to place. Note: with heavy items we recommend providing temporary support until the adhesive has dried.
Cleaning: Clean any excess material with a damp cloth. Full bond strength will be achieved 24-48 hours after application.

Limitations: Not suitable for polythene, polypropylene, Teflon or nylon.
– On low porosity surfaces or in damp, cold or humid conditions,
curing time may be significantly affected.
– Only apply between +5oC and +30oC.
– Not recommended for plaster coving.
